Nitin Patel, MD
Dr. Nitin Nick Patel is the newest member of Partners in Urology of NJ. He is a board-certified Urologist with expertise and experience in the following:
- Robotic & Minimally Invasive Surgery
- Oncology (Kidney, Prostate, Adrenal & AMP; Testicular cancer)
- Transgender Surgery
- Male Sexual Dysfunction
- Trauma & Reconstructive Surgery
- General Urology (stones, urinary symptoms, hematuria, enlarged prostate, etc.)
Prior to joining Partners in Urology of NJ, he served as Assistant Professor and Assistant Program Director at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in the Division of Urology. He also served as chair for the Robotics Committee while pioneering the use of robotic surgery at University Hospital for reconstruction and transgender surgery.
Dr. Patel graduated from Stevens Institute of Technology in 2001 with honors earning a degree in chemical biology and a minor in philosophy. He then went on to graduate from UMDNJ on a full scholarship earning his doctorate in medicine in 2005. He also completed his surgical and urologic residency at UMDNJ/Rutgers in 2010. He has co-authored several articles on trauma and stones. He is currently working on a database for minimally invasive prostate surgery and transgender surgery and working on publications on these topics. He has presented nationally on topics including prostate cancer, male sexual dysfunction, robotic surgery and transgender surgery.
He currently resides locally with his wife and son. He speaks fluent Spanish and Gujarati and is able to speak Hindi also. His outside passions include cooking and hiking.

Neel P. Shah, MD
Neel P. Shah graduated from Northwestern University in 2000. He later graduated with AOA high honors from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in 2005. He completed his urology residency in 2010 at the New Jersey Medical School and Hackensack University. Dr. Shah has been at Partners in Urology for six years. Currently, Dr. Shah is Division of Urology Chief at Robert Wood Johnson Somerset and the site director at Robert Wood Johnson Somerset for the Urology residency program. He has been voted “Top Doctor” in Urology in the New Jersey Monthly Magazine in 2016. Dr. Shah has been instrumental in bringing new technology to Robert Wood Johnson Somerset and continues to be at the forefront in treating stone disease, benign prostatic hyperplasia, male and female incontinence, and urologic cancers. He resides locally with his wife and two young children and enjoys running and cross training.
